The Ottoman Image in Russian Classical Literature

This article examines the Ottoman image in the works of Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Turgenev, who were the most important representatives of the classical Russian literature. The Ottoman image and the different views of the Ottoman Empire, excluding the Turks who lived under the rule of Russian Empire, presented in fictional and non fictional literary works are studied in the light of literary theories.
